There is no smoke without fire:
After losing a match to Pakistan the Champions Trophy final, the coach was not ready to accept such a miserable defeat. However, Kohli supported the counterpart, saying: “We tried our best but Pakistan outplayed us in all departments of the game. It’s no shame losing to a better team,” mentioned in an HT’s report. There was clearly conflict interests between the coach and the captain, both of them were looking to their defeat differently.
Although Kumble had tried to bury the hatchet by saying: “It was apparent that the partnership was untenable,” in his farewell note.
In retrospect, both Kohli and Kumble maintained a warm relationship.

“It’s normal to have disagreements, even at home, not everybody agrees on everything. It’s human nature.”

Making this disagreement official, the Indian Cricket Team is now planning to appoint a new coach. Perhaps, Virat Kohli has a say in this too. Indeed, Shastri is clearly a choice of the captain as he was also among the panel of those who interview, comprising Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody and other renowned personalities of the cricket world.
Moreover, the news is also surfacing that Zaheer Khan will be appointed a bowling coach.
The final word was given by BCCI secretary Amitabh Chaudhary, who told an English Daily, “Besides Shastri as the chief coach, Zaheer Khan would be joining the team as its new bowling consultant. Rahul Dravid, who has been given charge of the India A and India Under-19 sides, would assist the team as batting consultant but only during overseas Test tours.”
